A valid comparison should use the same method, specimen construction, direction, conditioning and unit. For footwear, bags and upholstery, also ask whether the tested construction matches the thickness and backing you intend to purchase.

Before approval, match the document to the physical sample and record the construction used for testing. If your final component adds foam, lining, adhesive or another layer, repeat any tests that can be affected by the composite.
